**SUMMARY:**
**Adjunct Faculty** refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Teach three semester credit hours per 7-week term in the fully online competency-based education (CBE) format supporting the CBE Orientation Courses.
* Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.
* Facilitate courses by adhering to the standard course syllabus as provided by the Assistant Dean.
* Monitor undergraduate-level orientation courses for CBE programs and provide weekly status reports to advisors.
* Develop and maintain teaching materials (e.g., syllabi, course content, question libraries, etc.).
* Prepare and evaluate course assignments and examinations.
* Other duties as assigned.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
* **Education:** Terminal degree in instructional design or closely related field with 18 hours in field/subject area OR Master’s degree in instructional design with terminal degree in closely related field.
* **Experience:** NA
* **Knowledge / Skills:** Proficient with computers and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
* **Ability to:** Multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Work with minimal supervision.
* **Licensing/Professional Certifications:** NA
* **Physical Requirements:** NA
* **Other Requirements:** Position will require work after business hours and on weekends.
**PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:**
* Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials.
* College or University teaching experience.
* Evidence of teaching excellence.
* Prior relevant industry experience.
* Experience working with varied student populations.
* Online or hybrid teaching experience.
