**SUMMARY****:**
**Adjunct Faculty** refers to an educator hired to teach on a course by course basis throughout an academic year.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES****:**
* Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two (2) courses) within the Honors College. Instruction will be delivered on-campus during the day and/or evening as dictated by student demand and departmental needs.
* Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards.
* Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.
* Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
* Assist/mentor students as needed.
* Other duties as assigned.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS****:**
* **Education:** Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the field is required to teach undergraduate courses OR a terminal degree in the field of study or closely related is required to teach graduate courses.
* **Experience:** Experience teaching first time in college (FTIC) freshmen or transfer students.
* **Knowledge / Skills:** Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
* **Ability to:** Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

**PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE****:**
* College or University teaching experience.
* Familiarity with transformative learning practices, high-impact practices, experiential learning, and honors education.
* Experience with student transition support.
* Evidence of teaching excellence.
* Prior relevant industry experience.
