Job Description

As one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations in the world, we have four **Early Phase Clinical Research Units** in the UK and US. We are currently seeking an **Administrative Assistant/Front Desk,** to greet, receive, and route all visitors, clients, and or vendors while routing incoming calls and performing clerical tasks for clinic. The preferred candidate will be seasoned in multi-tasking and be able to problem solve independently throughout shift. **This is a full-time, Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm office-based position in Dallas, TX.** If you join us, you will work with some of the world´s leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies in a vital stage of clinical development: establishing the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of a new drug. Whilst allowing you to have a close face-to-face relationship with participants, and as you continue to practice your clinical skills and knowledge, you´ll be involved with the latest medical technologies and treatments, witnessing their development firsthand. When the drug you worked with gets approved, you know you´ll touch many patient´s lives around the world. **WHAT YOU WILL DO** You will act as a receptionist by pleasantly greeting and directing visitors having business with the company. **Other key responsibilities:** * Ensures that all visitors have temporary security identification and are escorted from the lobby into appropriate business area. * Provides administrative support for specified individuals (e.g. opening mail, screening phone calls, photocopying, word processing, and filing). · Supports department’s efforts on scheduling activities (e.g. client visits, scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, agendas, etc.) as needed. * Creates FedEx packages, makes photocopies, and stuffs envelopes. * Maintains an employee contact list. * Sorts departmental mail, orders office supplies (including paper for copy machines and fax machines) and helps to keep the copy and mail rooms neat and clean. * Initiates service calls for required office equipment repairs. * Performs other related duties as assigned. **YOU NEED TO BRING**… * High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred * Working knowledge of computers and programs (e.g., Word, Excel). * Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written. * Requires unquestionable customer service skills and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact. * Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements * 2-3 years of applicable experience (administrative assistant, office, medical office, hospital, homecare, research environment). * Knowledge of science or a scientific background is preferred. **Work Environment:** * Work is performed in a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. * Occasional drives to site locations, occasional domestic travel. * Exposure to biological fluids. * Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, and gloves. **Physical Requirements:** * Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day. * Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment. * Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck. * Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf. * Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs. * Regular and consistent attendance. * Varied hours may be required.
