Business Banking supports a broad range of customers, from small businesses through to large enterprises, including regional, agribusiness and online trading customers. Within Business Banking, Everyday Business Banking owns key product and portfolio areas including cards, payments, merchant solutions, customer onboarding, lifecycle management and scams strategy.
You will join the EBB Payments Acceptance team, which is accountable for merchant product development and digitisation, customer experience optimisation and scams strategy. Our team works to identify and understand customer breakpoints across business processes, using data and analytics to uncover where experiences can be improved, complaints can be reduced and better outcomes can be delivered for customers.
We partner closely with Product, Operations, Technology, Risk, Data and Customer teams to influence decisions from insight through to execution. The problems we work on are often complex and ambiguous, requiring a balance of analytical rigour, curiosity, stakeholder engagement and customer focus to solve.
**Your Impact and Contribution**
We’re building the analytical capability needed to better understand customer pain points, improve business processes and support better customer and commercial outcomes across Everyday Business Banking.
As a Senior Analyst, you will combine advanced analytics capability with commercial thinking and customer empathy to identify breakpoints, uncover root causes and translate data into actionable recommendations. Working across Product, Operations, Technology, Risk and Customer teams, you’ll:
* Use advanced analytics techniques to identify customer journey breakpoints, process issues and opportunities to improve customer experience.
* Analyse customer, product, process and behavioural data to uncover trends, risks, root causes and opportunities for improvement.
* Apply techniques such as machine learning, clustering, segmentation, LLM-enabled analysis and other advanced analytics methods where appropriate.
* Translate complex analytical findings into clear, practical recommendations that support better customer and business outcomes.
* Partner with senior stakeholders to understand business problems, define analytical requirements and influence decisions.
* Support measurement and evaluation activity to understand whether initiatives, interventions or process changes are delivering the intended outcomes.
* Bring the customer story to life through compelling insights, dashboards and presentations that influence action across the organisation.
**What You’ll Bring**
You’ll be a curious, commercially minded analytics professional who can move confidently from problem definition through to insight generation, advanced analytics and stakeholder recommendations. You’ll bring:
* Strong analytics experience, using customer, operational, product or behavioural data to identify trends, risks, breakpoints and opportunities.
* Advanced SQL skills, with experience working with large and complex datasets to solve customer and business problems.
* Practical experience with Python, R or equivalent analytical tools.
* Experience applying advanced analytics techniques such as predictive modelling, clustering, segmentation, machine learning or LLM-enabled analysis.
* Strong data visualisation and storytelling capability, using tools such as Tableau, Power BI or equivalent to communicate insights clearly.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical outputs into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences.
* An understanding of data governance, data quality and responsible use of data.
* A collaborative, test-and-learn mindset, with curiosity, problem-solving capability and a passion for improving customer experiences.
