**Find your calling at Mercy!** =============================== **Position Details:** ===================== The Advanced Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures to support patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires proficiency in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, upholding high-quality imaging standards, and maintaining accurate records and documentation of procedures and findings. Effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential for providing optimal care. * Operates all relevant advanced imaging equipment with expertise and precision, captures high-quality diagnostic images consistently across various machines, and reviews and verifies images for clarity and completeness before submission for interpretation. * Prepares, positions, and transfers patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process, and addressing any concerns, and providing radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. * Administers contrast media under a physician's direction and within the Radiology Department/Health System policies' guidelines. * Monitors imaging equipment for unsafe conditions and performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment. * Submits requests for equipment and/or technology needs and sees them through to resolution. * Manages and updates images and patient records completely and accurately in PACS (picture archival communication system)  * Schedules radiology examinations correctly. * Charges for supplies used accurately. * Performs clerical duties, as needed. * Assists with QA initiatives  * Assists with clinical rotations, as applicable. * Other duties as assigned. Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program and completed required clinical hours. Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor degree program Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice. Certification/Registration: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Radiography (ARRT(R)); Basic Life Support (BLS). **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: * Proficiency in operating radiographic imaging equipment. * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. **Physical Requirements:** * Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. * Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. * Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties **Why Mercy?** ============== From day one, Mercy offers outstanding benefits - including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, tuition support, and matched retirement plans for team members working 32+ hours per pay period.
