Job Description
**About the Practice**
The Rheumatology department is a primarily outpatient specialty practice headquartered at 3271 Clear Vista Ct., Grand Rapids, MI 49525, providing care to adult patients Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Providers serve patients across three locations: Clear Vista, Grand Haven, and Big Rapids. Grand Haven is staffed by a physician assistant three days per week and a rotating physician on Thursdays. In Big Rapids, a physician currently sees patients two days per week, with an additional physician assistant expected to provide care there soon.
The practice includes a collaborative team of 7 physicians, 3 advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, and ambulatory care technicians (ACTs). ACTs work closely with the clinical team to support patient care through responsibilities such as rooming patients, chart preparation, electronic fax management, medication prior authorizations, and quality assurance activities. While travel to the Grand Haven or Big Rapids locations may occasionally be required to meet staffing needs, dedicated clinical staff primarily support those sites. The department fosters a strong team culture through daily huddles, team recognition activities, and regular morale-building events.
**About Outpatient Clinics**
Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.
**Scope of work**
Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Provider or Registered Nurse (RN) in the examination and treatment of patients to facilitate clinic flow and provide excellent patient care. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and policies; communicate observations to members of the health care team. It will also include rooming patients, collecting vitals, and assisting in minor office procedures. EPIC In basket work. Processing FMLA and short-term Disability work. Answering phones.
**Qualifications**
* High School Diploma or equivalent Required
* AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
