**Summary** **Job Description:** **Anesthesia Technician-Operating Room** Surgical Services I Lexington Full-Time I Second Shift Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department. **Description Anesthesia Technician Operating Room:** * Assesses patient specific needs preoperatively i.e., resistant organisms, latex allergy, age specific and communicates with the surgical services team members regarding relevant patient and procedure data. * Communication and Teamwork. * Meets with anesthesiologists to identify needs of the department. * Meets with vendors to identify equipment /supplies needed for the department. * Assists in capital budget process. § Communicates with the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) regarding necessary changes, supplies/instrumentation needs. * Communicates conflicts in the OR schedule to the Chief Anesthesiologist/designee. * Coordinates special procedures with SPD. § Instructs staff regarding proper usage of and handling of anesthesia equipment. * Assists with staff Scheduling/coordinates coverage. * Demonstration of leadership. * Customer relations and healing environment. * Ensures positive customer relations through caring behaviors. * Uses sensitivity in managing difficult or emotional situations. * Previous experience as an Anesthesia Technician., preferred not required. **Requirements Anesthesia Technician Operating Room:** * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
