If you’re ready to join a company where what you do makes a difference and you have pride in the work you are doing, talk to us about joining the Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation family! **If you are a current employee, please navigate** [here](http://www.myworkday.com/elkay/d/inst/13102!CK5mGhIKBggDEMenAhIICgYI1A0Q2AI~*nsH-3y_ndUM~/cacheable-task/2998$46522.htmld) **to apply internally.** ============================================================================================================================================================================================================= Job Description --------------- The Application Engineer I researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment to internal and external customers.  The Application Engineer is responsible for product training and advanced technical support. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Key Accountabilities -------------------- * _Evaluates the usage and application of Zurn products in the design of customer systems, including fire protection, plumbing, and irrigation systems in multiple markets_ * _Provides technical product, design, and troubleshooting assistance to internal and external customers_ * _Trains others on fluids engineering concepts, plumbing codes, fire codes, industry performance standards, and product installation techniques_ * _Determines functional condition for returned goods through performance inspections and assists Quality Assurance with documenting inspection reports_ * _Liaises with the sales team as a technical expert, through layout drawings, hydraulic calculations, research memos, compliance reports_ * _Creates presentations and product comparisons for sales assistance and training_ * _Presents live, virtual, or pre-recorded product knowledge training to internal employees, customers, sales reps, distributors, and contractors Represents Zurn in the field during installation, troubleshooting, or other post-sales support including witness testing at a site or lab for insurance claims_ * _Drives continuous improvement activities within the group through ownership of the process plan_ * _Expedites customer resolutions by coordinating actions and feedback from customer care, quality, and engineering. Utilizes SWOT analysis to review internal and competitive products._ * _Collaborates with the New Product Development (NPD) team to create specification documentation to aid with the spec share growth and GTMS strategy_ * _Assists the NPD team with BETA Testing Process by identifying potential opportunities, helps obtain feedback and monitor product performance to support the GTMS strategy_ Qualifications/Requirements --------------------------- * _BS in Mechanical Engineering or other technical discipline with 0-1 years of experience, or 2 years of experience in a related area in lieu of a degree_ * _Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Excel, Word, Access, Teams, Sharepoint)_ * _Teamwork, presentation, project management, and verbal/written communication skills_ * _Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process schematics_ * _Ability to work effectively and professionally at all levels of the organization_ * _Ability to work directly with customers on a daily basis_ * _Ability to travel up to 10%_ Total Rewards and Benefits -------------------------- * _Competitive Salary - $71,000- $75,000_ * _Medical,_ Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, AD&D, and Life Insurance * _Matching_ 401(k) Contribution * _Health_ Savings Account * _Educational_ Reimbursement * _Matching_ Gift Program Equal Opportunity Employer – Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran Salary Range: The compensation range(s) identified above are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations.
