**Application Specialist for Water Treatment with a location in Europe.**
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
* Partner with the European Sales Organization to drive business growth, provide advanced technical support, and deliver effective customer solutions that strengthen and protect existing business.
* Support strategic customer opportunities and major tenders through site assessments, technical audits, solution design, proposal development, and customer presentations.
* Conduct wastewater treatment surveys, process evaluations, and operational audits to identify optimization opportunities and deliver measurable customer value.
* Develop, deliver, and facilitate technical training programs for customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
* Collaborate with R&D, Global Product Management, and Application Teams to support new product introductions, technology validation, and innovation deployment.
* Quantify and communicate customer value through technical case studies, Value Advantage projects, sustainability assessments, and ROI calculations.
* Create, maintain, and continuously improve technical documentation, application tools, digital resources, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
* Support the implementation and optimization of digital monitoring and control solutions, leveraging data-driven insights to improve wastewater treatment performance and operational efficiency.
* Act as a recognized technical expert in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, providing guidance on process optimization, regulatory considerations, and best practices.
* Travel across Europe (approximately 50-70%) to support customers, business development activities, and technology implementation.
**The Individual:**
* Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related field
* Significant experience in industrial and / or municipal wastewater treatment technologies (sludge treatment, dewatering technologies)
* Experience in municipal tendering process
* Ideally experience in cooperation with engineering firms, regulatory knowledge for EU and local authorities
* Strong understanding of coagulants, flocculants, and process chemicals
* Ability to communicate value creation (economic + environmental) internal & to customers
* Strong customer-facing communication skills
* Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
* Resilient, flexible, and able to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
* Previous sales experience in water treatment business preferred
