Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. **What You'll Be Doing** * Operate small equipment and hand tools on a variety of job sites consisting of milling, paving, grading. * Maintains housekeeping of job site and facilities, ensures equipment is in good working order * Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in asphalt paving, typical site work, grading, etc * Properly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager. * Performs routine inspection and preventative and corrective maintenance on small equipment and hand tools if within abilities; escalates issues that are not repairable or safe. * Routinely assists other members of the crew as needed, including shoveling and cleanup * Fuel, oil and grease to ensure proper function of equipment and complete associated paperwork * Performs other related activities as assigned **What Are We Looking For** * High School Diploma (or equivalency) AND prior relevant job experience * Valid/Clean Driver’s License * Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. * Must have the ability to work a varied schedule of day shift, night shift, and weekends due to construction contracts * Ability to operate and maintain small paving equipment (tamper, roller, skid steer experience preferred) * Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in typical site work, milling, paving, grading * Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions **Conditions of Employment** * Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. **Work Environment** * Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level. **What We Offer** * $27.00 per hour base pay.
