The Pediatric Hospitalist provides comprehensive inpatient medical care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents admitted to the hospital, managing both acute and complex conditions from admission through discharge. This role is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of hospitalized pediatric patients while ensuring safe, high-quality, and family-centered care. The Pediatric Hospitalist collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary care team, including pediatric subspecialists, nurses, advanced practice providers, emergency medicine physicians, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and optimize outcomes. The position also involves communication with patients’ families and caregivers regarding clinical status and treatment plans, participation in discharge planning and care transitions, and coordination with primary care providers and community resources. In addition, the Pediatric Hospitalist may contribute to teaching, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives in support of the hospital’s mission.
