Reporting directly to the VP of Accounting Operations and leading a team of five, the Assistant Controller will play a central role in maturing our accounting operations, strengthening internal controls, and scaling our financial infrastructure to match the pace of a rapidly growing company. * Own the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate completion of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation in accordance with US GAAP.
* Drive improvements across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll operations, with a focus on responsiveness, effectiveness, and accuracy.
* Leverage and optimize NetSuite, FloQast, and related automation tools to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and visibility across the accounting function.
* Support multi-entity and intercompany accounting, including revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 across IT services, managed services, and SaaS arrangements.
* Monitor and report on key financial metrics including DSO, aged payables, and cash flow indicators, providing timely analysis and insights to the VP of Accounting Operations.
* Design, document, and enforce internal controls and accounting policies, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and readiness for external audits or regulatory review.
* Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and leadership to support strategic initiatives and business scaling efforts.
* Assist in managing relationships with external third parties and service providers, including auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, and consultants, supporting key workstreams in coordination with the VP of Accounting Operations.
* Support ad-hoc projects, analysis, and leadership requests on an ongoing basis as business needs evolve.

* Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate at both a strategic and detailed level simultaneously.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization while modeling Fenix's culture and values.
* Experience with NetSuite and FloQast is a plus but not required – we value adaptability and a willingness to learn
