Associate Fire Sprinkler Service Technician

**THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL** Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with the installation and service of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and services. This is a key position for our growing team and requires someone who is interested in learning the fire sprinkler trade and a desire to start a career in the exciting and sustainable fire/life safety industry.     **WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well)!** * Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with coordination and installation of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, and hose systems. * Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings. * Learn and assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, to help install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.  * Occasionally communicate with various contractors and trades to ensure projects stay on time and on budget.   * Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies. **WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU** * High school diploma or equivalent. * Desire to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow within the Fire and Life Safety industry. * Self-starter; able to work independently but also demonstrate the ability to be a team player with a can-do attitude. * Ability to use basic hand tools. * Willing to learn how to read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, and project schedules. * Willing to learn how to thread and groove pipe. * Willing to travel to local job site locations. * Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday. * Able to obtain OSHA 10 Certifications * Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency. * Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening. * Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.  **WHAT WE’RE BRINGING TO THE TABLE** * Competitive salary based on qualifications.  * Paid time off plan and holidays.  * 401(k) matching.  * Short term and long-term disability.   * Medical, dental, and vision plans with options.  * Life insurance.  * Professional career development opportunities.   * Tuition reimbursement. $40-$50 per hour, final offer based on experience
