The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, nine state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus. **Salary:**
$3,657.34 - $5,833.33 per month commensurate with experience.
**Job Description Summary:**
Serves on software development teams to create and support web-based applications. Performs entry software development support functions. Assists as a developer of enterprise system applications and other software development projects
**Responsibilities:**
The associate Software Applications Developer will serve on software development teams to create and support web-based applications. Performs entry software development support functions.
\- Assists clients and co-workers to define application requirements. Identifies programming and output needs.
\- Assists in and verifies preliminary design and output, and recommends technical and procedural design for new or revised applications including flow charts, system specifications, programming guidelines, and code review.
\- Assists in reviewing, modifying, and writing program code and job control language.
\- Assists in writing documentation of system procedures and guidelines for application users as well as for programs and program modifications.
\- Assists with testing of complex programs, program modifications, or applications.
\- Answers questions and provides technical assistance and training to application users. Resolves problems by reviewing and analyzing software documentation and production outputs to identify causes, solutions, and make appropriate referrals.
\- Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Education and Experience:**
\- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
\- No experience required.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
\- Knowledge of web site development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
\- Knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases.
\- Knowledge of object-oriented development (e.g. C#, ASP.NET or PHP) applied in a web environment.
\- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
\- Occasional work outside of normal office hours/weekends
\- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
\- Experience with web site development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
\- Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
\- Experience with object-oriented development (e.g. C#, ASP.NET or PHP) applied in a web environment.
