**Ngā kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role**
As an Audit Associate based in Kirikiriroa / Hamilton, you’ll support audit engagements across a range of clients and industries, helping organisations build trust through quality financial reporting, careful analysis and clear communication.
This is a permanent, full-time role with a minimum of 37.5 guaranteed hours per week, generally worked Monday to Friday.
Your day-to-day could include:
* Supporting the planning and delivery of external audit engagements across a range of clients and industries
* Performing audit testing, financial analysis and risk assessment procedures
* Reviewing financial information, contracts, invoices and other supporting documentation
* Preparing clear, accurate and complete audit workpapers in line with professional and regulatory requirements
* Identifying audit findings and discussing these with engagement team members and client stakeholders
* Collaborating with colleagues and clients to obtain audit evidence, resolve queries and meet engagement deadlines
* Applying digital tools, including Microsoft Excel and audit technology, to analyse information and improve audit quality
* Building trusted working relationships while demonstrating professional judgement, integrity and attention to detail

* At least 12 months of practical audit experience, preferably at a professional services firm
* A completed tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, commerce or a closely related discipline
* Understanding of audit procedures, financial statements, supporting evidence and accounting standards.
* Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Confidence using tools such as Microsoft Excel and accounting systems, with experience in MYOB, Xero, Reckon or similar helpful.
* Clear communication skills and the ability to work well with clients and team members from different backgrounds.
* Progress towards, or eligibility and a commitment to work towards, a Chartered Accountant qualification or an equivalent recognised professional accounting qualification
