Automated Sideload Garbage Driver

**Waste Connections is Hiring a Automated Side Load/Automated Front Load Driver in Opa Locka, FL!** **PAY:** $23-$25/hr DOE, working 50-55 hours a week. **SHIFT DETAILS:** This is a **full-time, year-round position**. A typical schedule is **Monday – Friday**, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The workweek is approximately 50-55 hours. * **Guaranteed routes** on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. * **Wednesday or Saturday** will serve as the 5th day, but driving is not guaranteed on this day. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Safely operate a **Automated Side Load/Automated Front Load garbage truck** on specified routes to collect commercial solid waste. * Ensure accurate and timely collection and disposal of waste by operating hydraulic systems to empty containers. * Interact courteously with customers while performing the job. * Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order. * Ensure safety protocols are followed during collection and disposal. * Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading waste from front-load containers. * Maintain cleanliness of the truck and work area. * Follow route sheets and service each customer assigned by the dispatcher. **WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:** * Extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds. * Work environment may involve some exposure to physical risks, including moving mechanical parts, requiring basic safety precautions. * Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including wet/humid conditions, as well as fumes and vibration.
