Job Description
Enabling Smaller, More Powerful and Energy-Efficient Microchips
===============================================================
Work where tomorrow is created.
-------------------------------
What should never be missing from a smartphone?
Exactly – the microchip, the core component of every electronically controlled system. Around 80% of all microchips worldwide are manufactured using ZEISS technologies. ZEISS is a technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With highly precise lithography optics, photomask systems, and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of increasingly smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, playing a key role in shaping the era of micro- and nanoelectronics through innovation.
Your Role
---------
* Conduct requirements engineering activities for machinery and production systems in close collaboration with customers and suppliers.
* Create technical requirements specifications and functional design specifications for control and automation systems.
* Develop end-to-end automation architectures for special-purpose machinery, including system decomposition, context definition, and the creation of various software architecture views (e.g., component, runtime, and deployment views).
* Drive the development and adoption of internal engineering standards, reference architectures, and technical guidelines, while supporting their implementation within projects.
* Support project teams in applying architectural principles, standards, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
* Advise external development partners and internal project stakeholders on automation architectures, technical concepts, and engineering standards.
Your Profile
------------
* Successfully completed a degree in **Control Engineering**, **Automation Engineering**, **Mechatronics**, or a comparable field.
* Proven experience in the automation of **programmable logic controllers (PLCs)**, particularly **Siemens PLCs**, as well as expertise in drive technology, functional safety, control engineering, data management, and **Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)**.
* Hands-on experience in programming **Siemens control systems using the TIA Portal** and implementing industrial communication interfaces, particularly **OPC UA**.
* Experience in commissioning machine control systems, measurement systems, and drive technologies, including **SINUMERIK** and **SIMATIC** solutions for industrial equipment and machinery.
* Experience in requirements engineering and requirements management, including practical knowledge of related tools such as **Polarion**.
* A self-driven, proactive, and accountable working style within cross-functional project teams, combined with strong teamwork and intercultural collaboration skills.
* Good English language skills, both written and spoken.
