Automotive Mechanic 3

Amentum is seeking an **Automotive Mechanic III** to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in **Andros Island, Bahamas**. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. **Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.** **Essential Responsibilities:** * Diagnose and repair all manner of vehicles and equipment * Perform general preventive maintenance * Respond to “road” call for emergency repairs * Read and understand manufacturers’ shop manuals * Be familiar with automotive electrical systems and troubleshooting * Prepare and submit order/requisitions for parts * Provide complete documentation of all maintenance and repairs * Repair and maintain tools and equipment * Use of hand and power tools and electronic diagnostic equipment * Repair or help repair cranes IAW with Navy Crane Center regulations * Perform other duties as assigned **Minimum Requirements:** * 5 years of diagnostic and mechanical repair experience. * Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. * Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. * Must be able to regularly stand/bend at waist/stoop/crouch and lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. * Must be able to work in loud environment. * Must be able to work on uneven terrain. * Must be knowledgeable in operation of Snap-on scan and diagnostic tool. * Read and understand technical/repair manuals. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * **Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.** * **Valid U.S. passport and driver's license will be required.** * **Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.** **Preferred Qualifications:** * ASE certifications for light vehicles and air conditioning preferred.
