Job Description

**About us** NISHOHI is a small and dynamic Tokyo-based e-commerce company that supplies specialist equipment for rhythmic gymnastics, table tennis, martial arts, and ballet to athletes, clubs, and retailers in over 70 countries. We distribute Japanese brands abroad and foreign brands in Japan. We sponsor teams and clubs in Japan and abroad. We are an international team of five. Decisions take a day, not a quarter. What you build, you own. **The role** We are looking for one person to own our B2B relationships and grow them — with clubs, coaches, schools, teams and retailers, in Japan and internationally. You will report directly to the CEO and work alongside him and our marketing manager. This is a growth role. Roughly half your time is keeping our existing partners and customers strong; the other half is developing new ones. **What you will do** * Supplier and sponsor relationships (Japan). Work with our suppliers and vendors, and with the teams and organizations we sponsor. You will handle these in Japanese, together with the CEO. * Existing B2B accounts (Japan and international). Be the point of contact for the gyms, schools, and teams we already partner with or sponsor. Understand their season, their needs, their budgets, and make sure they have a great reason to keep working with us. * New club and coach partnerships. Identify and develop new partner clubs and coaches, in Japan and abroad, across sports. You will own the outreach end-to-end: finding the right people, starting the conversation, developing the relationship, and turning it into a partnership. * New category development. Open the bouldering market in Japan and abroad for new products. New category, no existing network — you build it from zero. **What we need** * Business-level Japanese and strong professional English. You’ll use both daily with customers and partners. Internal language is English. * Persistence, with good judgment. Most first messages get no reply, but silence doesn’t always mean no. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable following up, staying patient, and trying a different approach when appropriate — while always respecting the prospect’s time and knowing when to step back. * Experience in a client-facing commercial role, with real examples of accounts you opened yourself. * Comfortable initiating contact with people who have never heard of us, whether by email, phone, or in person. * Able to set your own priorities, manage your own time, and work independently. * Existing right to work in Japan. **Strong plus** * A background in sport: competing, coaching or working in sports. You will be talking to coaches and clubs every day; understanding their world is worth more than any sales methodology. * A third language. Our club partners are worldwide, and few of them are English natives. * Experience at a small company or startup. **What this role is not** No team to manage. No large marketing budget to spend. No inherited pipeline to rely on. If you want a large organization with defined processes, this will frustrate you. If you want to build something and see the result within weeks, this is for you. **Benefits** * Full-time employment (40 hours per week). * Salary 3.8~5.8M JPY depending on your experience and the value you bring to the role, plus a performance bonus. * Office located 4min walk from Omori Station, Tokyo (Keihin-Tohoku line). * Casual work environment * Full social benefits * Transportation allowance The post [Business Development & Account Manager (Sports E-Commerce – Bilingual JP/EN – Tokyo)](https://jobsinjapan.com/jobs/1715007/business-development-account-manager-sports-e-commerce-bilingual-jp-en-tokyo/) appeared first on [JOBS IN JAPAN](https://jobsinjapan.com).
