**City/State:** White Plains, New York **Department:** Ancillary Computed Tomographic Scanner\_6 **Bargaining Unit:** WPH - 1199 Tech **Work Shift:** Evening **Work Days:** MON-FRI, ALTERNATING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS **Scheduled Hours:** 4 PM-12 AM **Hours Per Pay Period:** 75 **Pay Rate/Range:** $52.04 - $62.88 For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors. **Sign On Bonus:** 15,000   **Job Summary** Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares patient for procedures, assists radiologists. Prepares, operates and cares for the equipment being used. Processes images /CDs when needed. Adheres to established radiology standards of care. Applies principles of radiation protection, when appropriate to minimize exposure to patient, self and others. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to hospital wide customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned, such as quality assurance. Performs diagnostic and some special procedure medical radiographic images utilizing CAT scan equipment. Exercises professional judgment in performance of procedures. **Essential Functions** * 1\. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors * 2\. Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires * 3\. Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/ or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed exams for quality, completeness for the type of test ordered * 4\. Assists physicians during procedures as necessary * 5\. Performs equipment Quality assurance and calibrations as needed, lets Sr. staff know when supplies are low and need to be ordered. * 6\. Will be required to work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in the department. Works on call, holiday, overtime and/or day, evening, and overnight shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe coverage for the department * 7\. Maintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment, and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to Bio Med or Senior staff * 8\. Processes images, or prints CD’s if needed * 9\. Performs routine office duties, such as answering phones, checking previous reports/ films, documents information on patients’ in EPIC, hospital RIS and PACs digital x-ray system * 10\. Notifies transport when patients are ready to be picked up or returned to floors * 11\. May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor * 12\. Will treat all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the hospitals behavioral standards. * 13\. Introduces self, uses 2 patient identifiers, and explains the exam to the patient and/or family member. * 14\. Knowledgeable and skillful in providing care and meeting the physical and psychosocial needs of different patient populations including neonate/ newborn pediatric/adolescent, adults, and geriatric groups * 15\. Performs New York State and ACR quality assurance tasks and calibrations * 16\. Performs other related duties as required, attends staff meetings and in-services * 17\. Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the department or hospital * 18\. On standby/ call for emergency department coverage * 19\. Performs all other related duties as assigned * 20\. Aware of department specific protocols and policies; such as Stroke Program / Code Gray, IV & Oral contrast, etc. **Qualifications** * High School Required and * Certificate allied health education and accredited radiography school or hospital-based program Required or * Associate Degree allied health education and accredited radiography school or hospital-based program preferred * 2 years of experience preferred * Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/ or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed exams for quality, completeness for the type of test ordered (High proficiency) * Assists physicians during procedures as necessary (Medium proficiency) * Performs equipment Quality assurance and calibrations as needed, lets Sr. staff know when supplies are low and need to be ordered. Current standards are 24 ECE credits over a two-year period depending on year of birth. * DOH IV certification preferred or by completion of 6-month orientation. * ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT registered (RT) and radiograph(R) and or (CT) certified or NMTCB registered (CNMT), and documented training and experience in operating CT equipment and radiation physics and protection. Upon Hire Required and * BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association within 90 Days Required and * New York State-Department of Health Radiology License Upon Hire Required or New York State-Department of Health Limited Permit Upon Hire Required and * New York Stat-Department of Health IV certification within 6m within 180 Days Required and * Radiation dose pledge for both Image Gently and Image Wisely through the American College of Radiology (ACR) will be performed during the orientation process and before end of probationary period (6M). within 180 Days Required and * Passing advanced CT examination /certification (ARRT) within 1 year from date of hire. within 1 Year Required and   White Plains Hospital Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
