Job Description
Vermont State University (VTSU) invites applications for a part-time clinical associate to support assigned clinical setting for the Dental Hygiene Program.
**The Clinical Associate will:**
* Supervise practical application of theory in assigned clinical settings for the Dental Hygiene Program.
* Demonstrate dental hygiene care and procedures to students.
* Contribute to the determination of daily student assignments in the clinical setting with review by the Clinical Coordinator.
* Conduct pre- and post-treatment conferences with students.
* Complete student evaluations.
* Attend scheduled department faculty and in-service meetings.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
* Graduated from a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program.
* Active Vermont Dental Hygiene licensure with local anesthesia endorsement at the time of employment with no sanctions or restrictions required.
* Bachelor of Science degree. BS degree in dental hygiene preferred.
* Current member of the American Dental Hygienists Association.
* Three years of clinical practice experience. Prior teaching experience preferred.
* Possess prior knowledge of educational methodology (preferred) or willingness to complete required educational methodology assignments.
* Current CPR BLS certification.
* Professional liability insurance.
* Ability to endure considerable walking and standing while instructing/supervising students,
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Basic computer skills.
* Experience with dental practice management systems.
* Experience with digital imaging systems.
