Commercial Chiller Technician

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Commercial Chiller Service Technician with demonstrated extensive experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing chilled water equipment and the systems and controls associated with them. They must be a self-starter with the motivation to work with and mentor other team members. The ideal candidate has the desire to use their advanced skills in a stable, growth-oriented, market-leading company. **Principle Duties and Responsibilities:** * Using necessary service literature, can service, perform maintenance on, and repair all commercial / industrial chillers. * Performs new system start-ups and repairs on air conditioning and industrial chiller and refrigeration equipment. * Low voltage temperature-control systems that are generally associated with HVAC equipment. * Direct expansion constant volume, multiple circuited/compressor air conditioning equipment. * Water-cooled AC units up to 100 tons. * Water source heat pumps and associated equipment. * Atmospheric gas fired hot water boilers. * Most gas fired and electric heating systems typically found in commercial equipment up to 100 tons. * Chilled and hot water piping and pumping systems and associated equipment. * Computer room type units with self-contained humidifiers and controls. * Non-BAS, pneumatic, electronic, and modular DDC temperature controls generally associated with commercial HVAC equipment. * Boilers with forced air burners under 200 HP. * Air handling equipment typically found in larger commercial systems. * Air-cooled water chillers equipped with reciprocating, scroll and screw compressors. * Electronic controls incorporated with most packaged water chillers. * Electronic Variable Speed Drives typically connected to VAV air handlers, pumps, towers, etc. * VAV systems. * Water-cooled DX water chillers equipped with reciprocating, centrifugal, scroll or screw compressors. * Electro-mechanical motor starters, up to 480 volts, and associated controls. * Chilled and hot water piping and pumping systems equipped with variable speed drives. * Most gas fired and electric hot water/steam heating systems typically found in commercial boilers 200 HP and above. * Electronic/variable speed starters. * Specialty equipment providing constant temperature and humidity control. * Electronic and computer controlled digital temperature controls systems typically found in commercial systems; utilize the BAS system to diagnose and repair system problems and components. **Experience, Training, and/or Certification:** * 3 or more years of Chiller Service and/or refrigeration within a commercial or industrial setting. * EPA universal certification preferred. * Experience with RTU, air handlers, split systems, and chilled water systems is preferred. **Additional Requirements:** * Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude. * Requires mechanical aptitude, mathematical, and English language skills. * Complies and promotes company Safety Policy. * Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter. * Excellent communication and customer services skills. * Analytical and problem-solving skills. * Professional demeanor and positive, caring attitude. * Must be able to work independently and without supervision. * Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 60 lbs. * Proficiency in electrical and mechanical diagnostics. * Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials. * Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening. * Ability to pass a physical ability test. * Ability to travel, as needed, for projects. **Benefits:** * Two Blue Cross/Blue Shield Medical Plans (non-tobacco) offered at no premium cost to all employees. * Company paid short-term disability and voluntary long-term disability. * Full array of other benefits including Vision, Dental and optional insurance coverage. * Paid holidays. * Paid time off (PTO) program - begin accruing hours as of Day 1. * 401(k) Plan with multiple investment options. * Company provided Employee Assistance Program. * Employee discount programs. * Company-paid and voluntary life insurance. **Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regards to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.**
