Improve lives._ **Position Summary:** University Health is seeking a **Cultural Health Navigator (CHN)** to support equitable healthcare access for refugee, immigrant, and underserved communities. In this vital role, you’ll help patients overcome cultural and linguistic barriers by providing **interpretation**, **navigation support**, and **resource connection** to ensure access to care and community services. You'll play a central role in promoting **health equity**, screening for social needs, and guiding patients—particularly Black, Hispanic, and uninsured populations—through healthcare systems with empathy, cultural understanding, and personalized support. **What You’ll Need:** * **Associate’s degree** or equivalent education/experience * Proficient in the **English and Spanish language required** * At least **1 year of healthcare interpretation experience** (preferred) * Successful completion of **Bridging the Gap**, **JCCC**, **SBA**, or equivalent * Excellent interpersonal and **cross-cultural communication** skills * Deep understanding of immigrant/refugee **cultural, social, and economic needs** * **Microsoft Office** proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * High empathy, strong self-awareness, and a passion for community impact **Preferred Qualifications:** * **Community Health Worker** and/or **National Healthcare Interpreter Certification** * Proven ability to build trust and navigate diverse community relationships **Why Join Us?** ✅ Empower vulnerable communities ✅ Shape a more inclusive healthcare system ✅ Be a voice and a guide for those who need it most
