Job Description
Flowserve is seeking a skilled, hands-on **Customer Product Repair Mechanic (CPRM)** to join our Quick Response Center (QRC) team. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end teardown, **DCI (Disassembly, Cleaning, and Inspection)**, precision repair, and reassembly of mission-critical industrial flow equipment—including **centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals, rotating equipment, electric actuators, and compressors**.
Working directly from engineering schematics, routers, and QA checklists, you will assess component wear, document critical dimensional fits, run dynamic balancing machines, and conduct hydrostatic/pressure testing before final equipment prep and customer shipment. If you have strong mechanical or electrical assembly skills, take pride in craftsmanship, and want to build a long-term career with a global industry leader, apply today.
**Key Responsibilities**
* **Disassembly, Cleaning & Inspection (DCI):** Teardown incoming rotating equipment, clean parts, photograph components, and document wear/condition to support accurate customer repair quotes.
* **Precision Inspection & Dimensional Checks:** Accurately set up and read precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, depth gauges) to check critical fits, run-outs, and tolerances.
* **Mechanical Assembly & Overhaul:** Rebuild equipment to OEM specifications using hand/power tools, torches, liquid nitrogen shrink-fitting, and overhead cranes/rigging.
* **Testing & Dynamic Balancing:** Conduct low-pressure air tests, high-pressure hydrostatic testing, and operate dynamic balancing machines on rotating components.
* **Finishing & Final Prep:** Apply industrial paint, mount nameplates/tags, and prep completed units for customer shipment.
* **Shop Coordination & Safety:** Partner with Production Planners, Service Coordinators, and Quality teams on job status while championing a zero-incident safety culture and Stop Work Authority.
**Required Qualifications & Skills**
* **Experience:** 0–2+ years of mechanical repair, machine shop, automotive repair, or mechanical/electrical assembly experience (vocational training or hands-on trade experience welcome).
* **Technical Aptitude:** Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, assembly checklists, and written SOPs.
* **Tooling:** Must own a standard set of SAE hand tools, precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators), and a roll-around toolbox.
* **Physical Requirements:** Ability to stand for extended periods, perform overhead lifting/motion, lift up to 25–50 lbs, and work overtime/weekends as customer repair turnaround demands.
* **Education:** High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Prior experience with industrial rotating equipment (centrifugal pumps, compressors, turbines, or gearboxes).
* Hands-on exposure to valve automation, actuators, or electrical wiring.
* Experience working in a fast-paced aftermarket service center or Quick Response Center (QRC).
