Job Description
**Your Role as Cyber Security Engineer**
The Cyber Security Engineer, a hands-on technical role, is a member of the Infrastructure & Security Team and works closely with the other members of the broader Business Solutions Group to support implementation of a comprehensive network and security controls.
In this role you will also:
* Work with various business units and with other risk functions to identify security requirements, using methods that may include risk and business impact assessments.
* System security administration, gap analysis, security controls design and implementation
* Support information security initiatives which include large-scale transformational projects, such as upgrading and hardening legacy operating systems and web applications using industry best practices.
* Perform vulnerability scanning, assessment, and prioritisation of remediation requirements for endpoints, servers, and network devices.
* Translate solution designs into technical specifications and implementation steps as per the business requirements.
* Perform analysis on security architecture and make recommendations for system and security enhancements.
* Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues related to information security controls.
* Critically analyse and interpret security policies and ISMS requirements and proactively recommend improvements to enhance security posture.

**What We’re Looking For**
* Degree in information technology or equivalent work experience. (Security focused certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, Security+, is preferred).
* Excellent conceptual ability, skills in analysis and problem solving.
* Previous experience in network or systems engineer roles in complex technology environments
* Experience in Network & Systems Security (Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, Anti-Malware), SIEM, Active Directory, Access Control, O365 & Azure, OS hardening, vulnerability scanning and patching, CASB and cloud security.
* Knowledge and experience in working with IT security policies and procedures aligned with regulatory standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001 or equivalent.
**Essential Requirements**
* Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
* Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
* Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
