**Hendrick Motorsports**, a leader in the auto racing industry, is currently seeking a Cylinder Head Engine Tech.
**Summary:** Under the general direction of the Cylinder Head Shop Manager, the Cylinder Head Technician is responsible for teardown and cleanup of cylinder heads and components post-race.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** **include the following:**
* Teardown, inspect and cleanup cylinder heads and components post-race
* Measure valve seat wear and valve guide clearance
* Data entry
* Open work orders
* Install & hone valve guides
* Mill cylinder heads to correct chamber volume
* Inspect & rate valve springs
* Any other duties assigned by manager
**Qualifications:**

* Coordination – adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.
* Repairing – repairing items using needed tools and equipment.
**Education/Experience:**
* Ideally have experience with building race engines.
* Requires working knowledge of basic mechanical skills and competencies.
* Must possess a sound understanding of internal combustion engines.
**Computer Skills:**
* Requires basic computer skills.
**Communication Skills:**
* Must possess strong communication skills and an excellent sense of customer satisfaction, communicating with other departments, and perform work as timely and precisely as possible.
**Physical Demands:**
* Requires vision (near, distance, depth) and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses. Constantly manually manipulates. Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pull up to 40 pounds. Occasionally reaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
