Day Fitter £20.74 per hour + Benefits 08:00 - 16.00 Monday to Friday As a Day Fitter at Arriva , you will be responsible for the routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of our fleet of buses to ensure their safe and reliable operation throughout the day. \* Perform scheduled preventative maintenance checks and inspections on buses, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, electrical systems, and bodywork. \* Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults efficiently and effectively. \* Conduct roadside assistance and recovery when required, ensuring minimal disruption to services. \* Carry out routine servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication. \* Identify and report any major defects or persistent issues to the workshop supervisor. \* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed. \* Adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards. \* Work collaboratively with other technicians and operational staff to ensure fleet availability. \* Keep the workshop and work areas clean, tidy, and organized. Job Qualifications \* A recognized apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. \* Proven experience as a Fitter or Mechanic, preferably within a commercial vehicle or bus environment. \* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. \* Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools. \* A full, clean UK Driving Licence is essential; a PCV (Category D) licence is highly desirable, or willingness to obtain one. \* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. \* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. \* Flexibility to work various shifts, which may include weekends and public holidays, as required by operational needs.
