Dental Hygienist

About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia Directorate Branch Clinic/Naval Station Norfolk, General Dentistry. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Major Duties: - Review radiographs and conducting a thorough examination of each patient's teeth and oral tissues. - Review and consult with dentist on individual patient based on the Periodontal Screening and Plaque Index examination. - Ensure instruments are maintained in aseptic condition. - Coordinate all aspects of the DDS Directorate's Health Promotions Program (HPP). - Provide health promotion in the community. - Coordinate general health awareness efforts among eligible beneficiaries and staff.
