**Job Description**
**Job Summary**
This position provides comprehensive administrative and clinical support to medical staff, primarily acting as a scribe during patient encounters and assisting with departmental operations to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Accompanies Physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the Physician's encounter with the patient and others present.
* Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the Physician.
* Transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
* Documents any procedures performed by the Physician.
**Required Qualifications**
* High School diploma or GED
* 1 year plus related work experience
* Experience with Medical Terminology. Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details.
**Preferred Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree
Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access. EPIC experience
Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
