If you’re a Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Technician with welding and fabrication experience who values safety, teamwork, and making a difference in your community, this is the place for you. **What You’ll Do as a Diesel Mechanic/Container Repair Welder** --------------------------------------------------------------- In this role, you’ll perform essential fleet maintenance and diesel truck repair to keep our drivers safe and our operations running smoothly. Responsibilities include: * Performing inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel vehicles * Troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems * Using onboard vehicle diagnostic systems to interpret failure codes and adjust engine/vehicle control modules * Responding to road calls and conducting emergency repairs * Reviewing and completing repairs from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) * Documenting work using fleet maintenance software * Test-driving vehicles after repairs * Supporting teammates with complex repairs * Interacting professionally with drivers * Maintaining a clean and safe shop environment compliant with OSHA standards * Performing additional maintenance duties as needed **What We’re Looking For** -------------------------- To excel in this diesel mechanic role, you should bring: * ### Hands-on experience with diesel truck diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs * ### Hydraulic system experience (preferred but not required) * ### Ability to work in all weather conditions. * ### Ability to lift at least 50lbs repeatedly. **What You’ll Get From Us** --------------------------- We offer a competitive compensation package plus benefits that help you grow your career and support your life outside of work: * Competitive Pay: $36.00/hr * 401(k) with company match * Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance * Life Insurance + Short- and Long-Term Disability * Employee Assistance Program (mental health support) * Emergency Travel Assistance * Prepaid Legal Plan * Employee Stock Purchase Plan * Employee Relief Fund * Scholarship opportunities for your children Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
