Director - Data Architect

Job Description: ---------------- **Job title: Director – Architecture** The **Director – Architecture** associate will be responsible for designing and architecting applications within the AM portfolio. **Purpose of This Role** * Design highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud-based solutions for applications * Drive innovation through prototyping and solution recommendations for cloud-native and AI-powered applications * Collaborate with key partners to adopt emerging technologies, including AI/ML, Generative AI, and intelligent automation The associate is expected to have hands-on experience architecting solutions involving web services, event-driven patterns, and distributed computing on public cloud platforms. This role also requires strong technical expertise in AWS Cloud, AI/ML, Generative AI, containers, and UI frameworks. Exposure to building AI-driven solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agent-based architectures is highly desirable. **The Value You Deliver** * Demonstrated leadership in architecting, designing, and building highly scalable and intelligent applications * Enterprise-scale expertise in distributed computing and modern AI-driven architecture patterns * Extensive experience architecting modern systems using open-source frameworks and emerging AI technologies * Strong experience building cloud-native (e.g., AWS) applications and integrating AI/ML and Gen AI capabilities * Proven ability to evaluate, prototype, and recommend open-source, vendor technologies, and AI platforms * Drive technology leadership by participating in cross-company initiatives, including AI transformation efforts * Strong communication and influencing skills to collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders * Solid experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban and Scrum) **The Skills That Are Key to This Role** * Strong hands-on experience in application architecture * Hands-on experience designing and developing applications in cloud ecosystems * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills **Required Technical Skill Set** * Application architecture using Java and/or Python * Working knowledge of AWS Cloud and Kubernetes * Working experience in designing apps with High Performance distributed architecture * Experience architecting AI/ML use cases, including understanding of ML lifecycle and model deployment * Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, and LLM-based application integration * Understanding of AI agent frameworks and orchestration patterns for building autonomous or semi-autonomous systems * Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise applications while adhering to responsible AI and governance practices * AWS or Kubernetes certifications are a plus **How Your Work Impacts the Organization** Asset Management Technology (AM Tech) delivers innovative, scalable, industry-leading investment tools that enable Fidelity’s Investment & Asset Management business to maintain a competitive global advantage.
