Job Description
Shape the future of HR at a leading university. Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, the Director of Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP) will lead a dynamic team in driving strategic HR initiatives that empower people, strengthen culture, and advance the university’s mission. This is a high‑impact leadership role for someone passionate about building engaged HR Partnering teams and delivering exceptional HR experiences.
**_Strategic Leadership_**
* Design and implement HR strategies aligned with the university’s vision and objectives.
* Partner with the Chief HR Officer to define HR priorities and lead enterprise-wide initiatives.
**_Team Management_**
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR Business Partners to deliver strategic HR guidance across all functions.
* Build a collaborative, high-performing, and results-oriented team environment.
**_Business Partnering_**
* Establish strong relationships with university leadership and departments to understand and address HR needs.
* Serve as a trusted advisor, offering insights and recommendations on HR-related matters.
* Drive employee engagement and proactively manage employee relations throughout the employee lifecycle.
* Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Centre of Excellence (COE) to ensure timely recruitment of talent with the right competencies.
* Champion organizational excellence, job redesign, and resource optimization through transformative HR initiatives.
* Promote business ownership of talent by coaching managers on career development and leadership growth.
**_HR Policy Centre of Excellence_**
* Review and refine HR strategies, policies, and procedures specific to Faculty and Research Schemes.
* Recommend and implement changes to strengthen the delivery of professional HR services.
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 20 years of HR experience, including at least 10 years in a leadership role.
* Deep knowledge of the full HR spectrum, with proven ability to lead strategic initiatives.
* Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, coach, and influence without authority.
* Strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity and can anticipate future needs.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for building trust across diverse stakeholders.
* Resourceful, pragmatic, and solutions‑oriented mindset.
* Solid understanding of Employment Act and Labour Laws.
