Dispatch Professional

This dispatch position works in a high-energy, fast-paced environment and requires excellent customer service skills, sound judgment, resourcefulness, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This is a remote position. **Job requirements:** * Highly motivated, outgoing and energetic with a professional demeanor * Self-starter * Comfortable learning and using multiple software tools * Customer-oriented and empathetic toward drivers * Ability to build rapport by phone, email, and SMS messaging * Highly organized and detail oriented * Ability to work under pressure and deadlines * Ability to deal with upset customers or drivers when necessary * Have problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to ever changing situations * Ability to think on your feet when a transport goes sideways * Ability to multitask * Willingness to learn * Ability to accept constructive feedback * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Good math skills **Essential duties include but are not limited to:** * This position is Monday – Friday 8am-5pm **Mountain Standard Time** * Communicate with customers, quote rates, and provide up to date information regarding loads. * Coordinate loading and unloading arrangements with drivers and customers. * Input orders efficiently and accurately – attention to detail is crucial. * Negotiate freight rates and terms with carriers * Vet new carrier partners; Review FMCSA ratings, confirm insurance * Monitor driver progress from pick up to delivery * Dispatch freight daily by phone and operating systems * Willing to work weekends as needed (currently this is very rare) **Compensation and benefits:** * Salary – DOE * Health and Dental insurance (company contributes to health insurance premium) * Optical plan (in-house $360 reimbursement per year) * Retirement plans with employer contributions (up to 3%) * Paid vacation * Paid holidays
