**Summary** **Job Description:** **Nursing Assistant** Part-Time I Second Shift Emergency Department I Lexington, KY An Emergency department (ED) that provides 24-hour emergency care to patients who need urgent medical attention for severe injuries or illness.  **Description:** * The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team that cares for the ED patient under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse. * Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow. * Working knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for assigned duties. * Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow. * Collects, process, transports and analyzes specimens according to approved standards of testing per laboratory policies and procedures. * Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, according to hospital policies and procedures. **Requirements:** * High School Diploma or equivalent * Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
