Job Description
Primary Purpose
Performs routine and emergency EKG's per doctor's request to provide a diagnostic tool for diagnosis and treatment.
MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
* Must have completed a Medical Assistant course that includes EKG OR must have six months of experience performing cardio graphic procedures.
* Prefer six months in high volume acute care hospital setting
Equivalent Education and/or Experience:
* May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.
Skills or Special Abilities:
* Must be able to identify the proper placement of electrodes for a 12-Lead EKG.
* Must be able to perform 12-Lead EKG.
* Must be able to utilize the MUSE (EKG Management System) for edit of EKGs prior to physician interpretation.
* Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
* Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of PC operations and the ability to use work processing and spreadsheet software in a Windows environment.
* Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of equipment in order to monitor its general working condition.
* Utilizes creativity and innovation in attaining desired outcomes.
* Uses a holistic approach and persists when solving problems.
* Works in a highly organized manner, capturing and attending to details as well as the bigger picture.
* Acts with a sense of urgency.
