_**Electrical Power Systems Safety Engineer**_
**_Full Time, Hybrid_**
**_Location - Bristol, Derby, Solihull_**
_An exciting opportunity for an Electrical Power System Safety Engineer to join a specialist engineering team developing next-generation electrical power and control systems for future aerospace defence programmes._
_Our Electrical & Electronics teams are responsible for the design, integration and development of advanced electrical systems that support the operation, control and performance of aerospace products. These teams play a critical role in enabling future technologies and next-generation power systems._
_Working within a team of system safety and reliability experts, the Electrical Power System Safety Engineer will ensure that safety and reliability attributes of electrical power generation and distribution systems are understood and that risks are managed to an acceptable level throughout the product life cycle. This is a highly innovative R&D environment where you will directly influence the safety architecture of future airborne platforms._
**_What you will be doing_**
* _Performing system safety assessments on complex electrical power generation and distribution systems to aerospace standards._
* _Identifying hazards and failure conditions, maintaining hazard logs, and driving mitigations through to design implementation._
* _Defining functional safety requirements and flowing them down to designers, customers, and suppliers — then verifying compliance throughout development._
* _Supporting parts classification and working with design/system teams to ensure reliability targets are met._
* _Modelling product degradation and failure mechanisms using deterministic and probabilistic techniques to characterise risk._
**_What we are looking for_**
* _Degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, aerospace, or equivalent discipline._
* _Experience conducting fault tree analysis, FMECAs, common cause assessments, and hazard/failure-condition identification on complex systems_
* _Working knowledge of ARP4761 (or comparable standards such as ISO 26262) and ideally compliance demonstration to CS25-1309, Def-Stan-970, or equivalent regulations._
* _Proficiency with safety/reliability tools (e.g. Reliability Workbench, Block Sim, Lambda Predict) and requirement management tooling._
* _Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and reliability prediction — with aerospace or defence domain experience a distinct advantage._
