Environmental Services Assistant

**Your Role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital** You will perform housekeeping duties within the unit, or the wider hospital as required and ensure that the environment and surfaces are free of microbes and not a source of infection to patients and caregivers. Applications will be considered for positions as they become available over the next six months. The Position * Performs housekeeping duties throughout the hospital, including ward cleaning, bed making and disposal of waste items. *  Assists nursing staff with transfers of patients belongings to different areas of the hospital when requested. *  Directed assistance with lifting and patient transportation. *  Acts as a courier when requested. *  Assists with safe and tidy storage of supplies within the unit. *  Cost effective use of stock supplies and equipment. *  Escorts patients to discharge office when requested. *  Reports any maintenance / supply needs as necessary. You will have an understanding of occupational safety and health practices, infection control and housekeeping protocols, whilst maintaining a high level of cleaning skills. To succeed you will basic knowledge of and experience with chemical usage, cleaning equipment and OH&S requirements.
