**Job Description**
**A Glimpse of the Job**
The Finance & Business Services Director (not ORP-eligible), under general direction, maintains responsibility for the management and direction of a specific function or unit.
**Essential Duties**
**Leadership**
* Develops strategic plan for unit
* Serves on departmental leadership team
* Directs unit staff, setting performance standards and accountabilities
* Ensures that programs, activities, and services comply with University, State, and Federal regulations
* Provides input and guidance into the budget and fiscal operations of the unit
* Develops and seeks funding for programs to promote unit mission
* Oversees communications, promotions, and public relations for units
* Develops and implements unit programs
* Serves on various University, division, and departmental committees and represents the department at various State and National associations
**Department Specific**
* Serve as the Budget Office representative on campus committees, including the Facilities/Construction Committee
* Collaborate with assigned departments on financial management, budgeting, and related business processes
* Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, SBC reports, and other data management tools to support departmental operations and decision-making
* Compile, analyze, and present financial and operational data to leadership, councils, committees, and other stakeholder groups
* Prepare ad hoc reports and respond to data requests, including support for special projects and open records requests
* Partner with Budget Office leadership and fellow directors to develop, update, and maintain campus-wide training materials
* Serve as a resource for new employees by providing guidance, knowledge transfer, and onboarding support
* Create, maintain, and expand documentation, procedures, and reference materials related to Budget Office functions and responsibilities

**Salary**: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

**Required Education and Experience**
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Ten years of related experience
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience coordinating campus-wide training initiatives, developing instructional materials, and presenting information to large audiences
* Knowledge of higher education budgeting, financial planning, and institutional reporting practices
* Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with academic, administrative, and auxiliary units
* Demonstrated experience developing executive-level dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support strategic decision-making
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
* Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
**Other Requirements**
* This position is security sensitive
* This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures
