We began work in Ethiopia in 2000 in response to severe drought in Ethiopia’s Somali region and are currently providing assistance to Ethiopians and refugees in six regions in Ethiopia, implementing emergency and development programs in health, water and sanitation, economic recovery and development (ERD), women’s protection and empowerment, education, child protection, and multi-sectoral emergency response._ **Job Overview:**  _Reporting to Finance Officer, the Finance Assistant is responsible for ensuring the overall Finance department activities in Aleta wondo field office. The Finance Assistant must be proactive on delivering the necessary tasks as required._ **Major duties and responsibilities:** * _Effects all cash payments and cash in office and outside of the office (travel to field office)_ * _Prepares check and effect payments after approval from the designated official._ * _Invoice NON PO documents on integra System and post the transaction timely_ * _Preparing payment for PO and NON PO payments in integra system and post the transaction timely_ * _Clear integra dashboard daily base_ * _Prepare Government invoice report and send to addis finance monthly_ * _Journalize all cash in office, petty cash and bank transactions on integra System using the correct D codes and submit workflow ._ * _Keeping all used and unused finance vouchers in a safe place._ * _Keep the petty cash fund in the safe box and replenish timely when reaches its minimum balance as per the IRC policy._ * _Keeping Emergency cash the safe box and make cash count every week_ * _Assist the Finance Officer/ Manager in preparation of the reports._ * _Carries out cash count and cash reconciliation at the end of every week and at any interval as per the IRC policy._ * _Reconcile cash balance per records with the result of cash count._ * _Make sure taxes and any other liabilities paid timely._ * _Follow up on income Tax, pension, withholding tax settlement timely_ * _Collect Bank advice timely._ * _Follow Up in Advance settlement within the same month_ * _Keep filing systems in which documents could be readily available and easily traced._ * _Make sure that all finance documents are stamped with IRC Ethiopia Paid or Received stamp before sending the document to Addis._ * _Make sure keep financial documents each month, scan in the field office box drive and filed before the document is sent to Addis._ * _Actively update any financial transaction on integra in daily bases.._ * _Give attention to detailed accuracy and neatness in documentation._ * _Perform financial duties in line with the IRC Program, Personnel & Finance Regulations._ * _Prepare any finance related outgoing letters._ * _Replace the Finance Officer in their absence and undertake all duties as necessary._ * _Do all tasks assigned by the Finance Officer._ **_Safeguarding Responsibilities:_** ------------------------------------ * Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to build team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion in IRC team/office. * Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies. **_Job Requirements:_** ----------------------- _2 years of relevant work experience for diploma holders_ _0-year relevant work experience for first degree._ _Minimum of 6 months IRC internship service_ _NGO experience is a plus._ **Educational Requirements:** * _BA/MBA graduate in Accounting and Business Management and related field_ **Preferred experience & skills:** _Basic computer knowledge (word, excel)_ _Basic English spoken and writing._ _Good communication and interpersonal skills._ **Language Skills:**  _Knowledge on English Language is a must._ **_Certificates or Licenses:_** ------------------------------- **_IRC is an equal employment opportunity employer.  IRC considers all applicants on the basis of merit without regard to race, sex, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability._** IRC strives to build a diverse and inclusive team at all levels who as individuals, and as a group, embody our culture statement creating a working environment characterized by critical reflection, power sharing, debate, and objectivity for us to achieve our aspirations as a team and deliver the best possible services to our clients. **Professional Standards**: The IRC and IRC workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in IRC Way - Standards for Professional Conduct.
