Job Description
**THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL**
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Central Region Finance team. The ideal candidate acts as a strategic partner to the divisions and contributes to key business decisions through analysis and collaboration. This position will manage the region’s month-end closing and consolidation process; generate and interpret financial records and statements for management. Other key responsibilities include budgeting and forecasting, supporting special projects, and maintaining strong controls.
**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)**
* Coordinate monthly closing process across the region.
* Prepare consolidated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow).
* Analyze financial performance and prepare financial and operational projections.
* Assess and forecast key performance indicators.
* Prepare presentations for monthly management reviews.
* Prepare fiscal year-end financial statements and corporate tax returns; assist audit activities.
* Prepare external financial and bank compliance reports.
* Coordinate the annual budgeting planning process for the company.
* Research and provide opinions on proper GAAP accounting treatment for new processes.
* Effectively analyze and reconcile financial data with attention to detail.
* Participate in special projects as requested, such as implementation of the new ERP system.
**WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU**
* Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
* Five to seven years of related experience in finance, accounting or audit.
* Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting principles.
* Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting is required.
* Exercise sound judgment in performing subjective accounting analysis.
* Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information.
* Work independently and successfully as a team member.
* Strong organizational and planning skills, and an ability to perform under pressure.
* Able to communicate effectively, written and verbally
* Strong work ethic.
* Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
