Fire Sprinkler Apprentice

**THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL**    Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Apprentice to assist with the installation of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and components. This is a key position for our growing team and requires someone who is interested in learning the fire sprinkler trade and has a desire to start a career in the exciting and sustainable Fire and Life Safety industry.   **WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)**  * Assist with coordination and installation of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, and hose systems.  * Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings.   * Learn and assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, to help install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.   * Occasionally communicate with various contractors and trades to ensure projects stay on time and on budget.    **WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU**  * High school diploma or equivalent.   * Desire to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow within the Fire and Life Safety industry.  * Self-starter; able to work independently but also demonstrate the ability to be a team player with a can-do attitude.   * Ability to use basic hand tools.  * Willing to learn how to read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, and project schedules.  * Willing to learn how to thread and groove pipe.  * Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.  * Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 Certification.  * Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills  * Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday.  * Ability to travel occasionally overnight, as needed.  * Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening. Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.  **WHAT WE’RE BRINGING TO THE TABLE**  * Competitive salary based on qualifications.   * Paid time off plan and holidays.   * 401(k) matching.   * Short term and long-term disability.    * Medical, dental, and vision plans with options.   * Life insurance.   * Professional career development opportunities.    * Tuition reimbursement.   $22.00 - $39.00 per hour based on experience.
