Firefighter

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Major Duties: - You will fight structural fires actively and effectively based on up-to-date knowledge of layouts, potential hazards, and fixed fire protection systems. - You will perform duties at airfields handling aircraft (e.g., fighters, bombers, cargo, passenger) carrying large volumes of fuel, conventional and sometimes nuclear weapons, or highly flammable or explosive cargo. - You will provide tactical or strategic level guidance for response personnel at hazardous materials incidents in confinement, control, and containment of various classes of hazardous materials. - You will perform emergency protocols and procedures by providing basic life support (BLS) established by the system medical director.
