Job Description
**Overview**
YCS is hiring and experienced Upper Elementary teacher for the 2026-27 school year (North American calendar). This position is for teachers who can teach elementary school grades 2-5 in a multiyear classroom within a supportive international Christian School.
Employer: Yokohama Union Church – Yokohama Christian School
Role: Upper Elementary Lead Teacher
Students: children aged 8-11 years old
Location: Yamate area, Yokohama
Salary: 240,000-270,000/month
Contract term: Start until July 31, 2027
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
Language of instruction: English; staff are required to speak English at all times
**About the Lead Teacher Role**
YCS is an English medium international school serving students from 2 years old to 11 years old (grade 5). The school is looking for staff members to work as part of its teaching team.
The UE Lead Teacher plans, prepares, and delivers lessons for a multi-age group of students assisted by a teaching team. The goal is to create and engaging student experience that supports knowledge, learning, and participation.
