Grossing Assistant

**Employment Type:** -------------------- Full time **Shift:** ---------- Day Shift **Description:** ================ Prepares tissue for gross pathology. Gross pathology involves the dictation of overall description of specimen to include size, the cutting of the specimen, loading specimens into processor to prepare specimen blocks for specimen block cutting staining, and Pathology analysis. Registers patient/specimens, assigning unique numbers to each specimen, and orders tests, which are tied to charges. Processes surgical specimens by a frozen process to quickly prepare specimens for Pathologist analysis for patients during surgery. 80hrs per pp Day shift hours Minimum: Associate’s Degree in chemical or biological science or medical laboratory   technology obtained from an accredited institution or equivalent education/training Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in the sciences such as biology and anatomy **Our Commitment** Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
