**Job Description:** The Head Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of the varsity men’s basketball program. This includes all aspects of team development, recruitment, competition, and student-athlete welfare, ensuring the program's success both on and off the field.  **Major Responsibility:  Team Leadership and Strategy (40%)** * Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategy for the program. * Oversee all aspects of training, practice, and game planning. * Mentor and guide all coaching staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. * Make key strategic decisions regarding player personnel and in-game adjustments. **Major Responsibility: Recruitment and Program Development (30%)** * Lead all recruitment efforts, including scouting, evaluation, and communication with prospective student-athletes and their families. * Develop and manage a robust recruitment plan that aligns with the program's long-term goals. * Build and maintain relationships with high school coaches, club programs, and community stakeholders. **Major Responsibility:  Student-Athlete Development and Welfare (20%)** * Promote a positive team culture that emphasizes academic achievement, sportsmanship, and personal growth. * Work with student-athletes to improve their technical skills, physical conditioning, and mental approach to the sport. * Serve as a primary resource for student-athletes, connecting them with campus support services as needed. **Major Responsibility:    Administrative Duties and Fundraising (10%)** * Oversee the program's budget, including travel, equipment, and recruiting expenses. * Ensure compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League, and institutional rules and regulations. * Manage team logistics, including travel arrangements and scheduling. * Actively participate in departmental fundraising efforts and cultivate relationships with program alumni and donors. **Education and Experience** * Bachelor's degree required * 5+ years of coaching experience at the collegiate level, with a proven track record of success. * Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. * Strong understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the compliance office and appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions must receive annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting by the compliance office and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division).
