Job Description

ABOUT FENCE Fence is building the modern infrastructure for asset-backed finance. Today, asset-backed finance is still administered through spreadsheets, PDFs, manual reconciliation, slow drawdowns, bespoke legal and capital-markets processes, and fragmented information between originators, lenders, investors, SPVs, agents, and servicers. This is not just inefficient back office work. It is one of the reasons capital moves slowly, assets are hard to finance, and private credit markets remain less liquid, less transparent, and less programmable than they should be. Fence replaces the spreadsheets, PDFs, and email with modern infrastructure based on APIs, AI, smart contracts and stablecoins. In the near term, this makes Fence the tech-native facility agent for modern asset-backed finance: the operating layer that runs the facility and the SPV end to end. The larger vision is to enable the instant originate-to-distribute model for every asset originator: assets born with the data, controls, eligibility checks, cash-flow logic, and investor visibility required to be financed and distributed continuously. Joining Fence means helping build the operating system for how capital moves into assets and back again. THE MISSION Your mission will be to make Fence legible, credible, and repeatedly present in the buying process for institutional financial buyers. Fence has strong founder insight, real customer proof, and a product thesis that matters. The market does not yet have a simple, repeatable way to understand it. We need one senior marketing owner who can turn that into narrative, sales collateral, founder content, events, and focused account-based marketing. WHAT YOU WILL OWN - Narrative: Turn Fence's facility-agent wedge, Portal / RWA services, and originate-to-distribute thesis into a clear story for serious financial buyers. - Sales collateral: Build decks, one-pagers, case studies, event materials, and buyer-specific assets that help Sales move opportunities forward. - Founder content: Help Juan communicate the category, product thesis, and customer proof with more consistency and leverage. - Market development: Design focused ABM, nurture, event, and content motions for originators, lenders, banks, private credit firms, fintech operators, and relevant RWA / DeFi investors. - Learning loops: Turn sales conversations, customer feedback, event signals, and market reactions into sharper messaging and better collateral. WHO YOU ARE You are a strategic product marketer and market developer who can make complex infrastructure feel obvious without dumbing it down. Strong candidates will likely have: - Excellent writing judgment and strong product-marketing instincts. - Experience in finance, capital markets, private credit, fintech infrastructure, or another complex B2B market. - The ability to build the first version of the messaging, collateral, campaigns, and founder-content system yourself. - Enough operating range to scale execution through agencies, freelancers, tooling, and eventually team. WHY YOU MAY NOT BE A FIT You may not be a fit if: - You are mainly a performance marketer or demand-generation operator without strong narrative and product-marketing judgment. - You are strongest in brand, communications, or agency management, but do not want to personally build the first version of the marketing system. - You need a mature sales playbook, clear category language, and established collateral before you can move. - You are crypto-native in a way that would weaken Fence's credibility with banks, private credit firms, and institutional financial buyers. LOCATION NYC is required. This role needs close working time with Juan and the GTM team. WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Fence is building infrastructure for a market that still runs on manual workflows. The product promise is speed, control, transparency, and trust. The market has to understand that promise clearly before it can compound. If we get this role right, Fence's sales conversations become easier, investor and originator relationships become warmer, and the company starts showing up in the market with the same clarity and seriousness as the product itself.
