If you're a hands-on problem-solver who takes pride in quality work and wants a stable, long-term opportunity in **Meridian******,** ID**, we want to hear from you! . **Schedule:** Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Occasional Overtime & Saturdays . **Competitive Compensation:** ----------------------------- **Starting pay at $26+/hr** (DOE) with regular increases * **Annual Safety Bonus $$** * **Monthly Tool Allowance $$** * **Generous Paid Time Off + Paid Holidays** * **Customizable Benefits Package**: Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, Wellness Programs, and more * **401(k) with Company Match** * **Company-Paid Life Insurance** * **Career Growth**: We promote from within—mechanics can grow into lead, supervisor, or shop manager roles . **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines * Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes along with minor and major repairs from A/C, hydraulics, electrical, welding, engine replacement, transmissions, etc. * Interprets diagnostic test results accurately * Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans in our system * Collaborates with other diesel mechanics * Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly * Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely * Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon * Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports * Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards * Follows all Waste Connections repair shop regulations and standards . **REQUIREMENTS:** * **Valid Driver’s License** with a **C****lean Driving Record (Required)** * **Experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair**  * Provide personal tools. * Class B CDL **OR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment if required.** * Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair. * Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English. . **WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:** * Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. * Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair. * Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position. * Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions. * The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.
