Heavy Diesel Fleet Mechanic

If you're a hands-on problem-solver who takes pride in quality work and wants a stable, long-term opportunity. . **Schedule: Mon-Friday** (Occasional Sat.)  **8hr shifts scheduled between 7:00am-7:00pm.** (OT daily) . **COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:** **Starting Pay: $29.00+/hr DOE** (or with current CDL) * **$150 Monthly Tool Allowance** * Paid Holidays * Yearly Safety Bonuses $$$ * Yearly Boot Allowance $$$ * Generous Paid Time Off * Growth opportunities- We pride ourselves on promoting from within * We offer benefits that can be customized to meet your family's needs, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental voluntary plans, wellness programs, and online discounts. * 401K retirement with company match. * Company Paid Life Insurance . **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. * Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs. * Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment. * Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. * Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. * Performs maintenance related work as required. * Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. * Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. * Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks. . **REQUIREMENTS:** * Valid **Driver’s License** with a **Clean Driving Record** **(Required)** * Class A or B CDL (Preferred, but not Required.) * **2+ years of diesel repair experience** (fleet, trucking, heavy equipment, etc.) or completion of a diesel tech program * Ability to read and interpret service manuals in English * Provide personal tools. * Welding or fabrication experience is a big plus! . **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:** Candidates for employment must meet position requirements and successfully pass post offer employment examinations including: **•             Background Check** **•             MVR Check** **•             Drug screen** . **\*\*\*\*\*To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at** www.wasteconnections.com .  Application information and additional instructions can be found once you select your position of interest. .
