Heavy Equipment Operator

This job will be accepting job applications until the position is filled. **Annual Salary:** $50,544.00 - $50,544.00 **Hourly:** $25.92 - $25.92 **Department:** Public Service, Public Service **Division:** Streets & Sidewalks **FLSA:** Non-Exempt **Job Description:** In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of specialized heavy equipment used in construction, repair, and maintenance of municipal rights-of-way.  Examples of Duties: * Operates heavy equipment, such as excavators, motor graders, and bulldozers. * Operates lighter equipment as required. * Completes work orders and daily worksheets. * Performs daily maintenance on equipment operated and maintains records of such maintenance. * Performs other related duties as assigned. ###  Basic Qualifications: * Associate’s (AA/AS) and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. *  Current South Carolina Commercial Driver’s License – Class A. ###  Other Necessary Requirements: * May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. * In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
