Interim Finance Manager

**Amsterdam | Hybrid | 32–40 hours | No Visa Sponsorships!**  **The Role**  As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of Firely's finance function for a 6-9-month assignment, split between keeping day-to-day financial operations running smoothly and modernizing how the function works. Alongside day-to-day business operations and reporting, you will help shape Firely's future finance operating model, introducing more automated and scalable ways of working ahead of the company's next phase of growth. You will report to the Management Team and collaborate with finance support staff, alongside legal, tax and security advisors.   **Key Responsibilities**  * Own day-to-day finance operations. * Produce management information, budgets,and reports to the CEO and Management Team. * Follow upon legal and tax risks ensuring they are flagged to the relevant advisor. * Act as a sparring partner to the CEO and management team on strategic financial decisions; present monthly updates to the Management Team. * Lead the modernization of Firely's finance function: rethinking how work gets done, not just automating existing steps. * Assess current finance tooling and systems, and recommend a modern, right-sized future setup. * Shape the finance function's operating model and ways of working for the next phase of growth. * Manage relationships with external finance vendors and service providers (accounting systems, banking, payroll) across the NL and US entities. * Partner closely with People & Culture on payroll, contracts, and compliance matters spanning both entities (FirelyB.V. and Firely Inc. USA). **What We Are Looking For**  * Proven experience as a Finance Manager, in a freelance or interim capacity. * Track record leading operational transformation within a finance function, redesigning how the function works, not just optimizing what already exists. * Experience modernizing finance operations: introducing new tools, systems, and ways of working in a scaling organization. * In-depth knowledge of Dutch tax law and working knowledge of US business and tax considerations. * Experience operating across NL and US entities, including coordination with US-based vendors and service providers. * Experience collaborating cross-functionally with People & Culture on payroll, contracts, and compliance. * Hands-on familiarity with accounting and reporting platforms, multi-entity / multi-currency setups, and SaaS-specific tooling. * Available 4–5 days per week for an estimated **6-9-month period** (flexible to extend depending on assignment progression and completion).  **Who You Are**  * A finance leader equally comfortable running the day-to-day and reshaping how a function works. * Entrepreneurial and pragmatic,you bring structure without over-engineering it. * Energized by modernizing how a finance function operates, not just maintaining it. * A strong communicator who builds trust easily with team members at every level of the organization. * Motivated by clear scope, ownership, and a defined endpoint rather than a permanent seat. **What Success Looks Like**  * Business-as-usual finance operations and reporting run without disruption for duration of project. * A defined set of finance processes are automated and documented. * Firely's finance function has a clear, modern operating model in place by the end of the assignment. * A handover package is ready, enabling a smooth transition to a permanent solution or lighter ongoing support. **Assignment Details**  * Contract type: Freelance  * Duration: Estimated 6-9months| **Ideal Start Date: August 17th, 202****6** * Availability: 4–5 days per week * Freelancer Rate: **€80–€100** per hour  * Reporting line: Reports to CEO; close collaboration with Management Team   Questions about this role?
